Hannah Goel Therapy

Healing your relationship with yourself and others

About me

And the therapy I do

Integrative approach

I have experience and training in a number
of different types of therapy, which means I
can tailor our sessions to your needs and pull from different theories to use the most effective approach for the work we’re doing.

My experience

I have years of experience as a senior counsellor in the NHS, as a school therapist, as support staff for people with ADHD and autism and as a proud volunteer in not-for-profit counselling agencies, allowing me to be a competent practitioner and a safe space for you.

My expertise

I have a particular interest in working with people on their relationships with themselves: learning to become a safe space for themselves, inner-child work, improving self-worth and resilience, figuring out what leads people to the patterns they now find themselves in and how to change those patterns if they no longer serve. Part of this is looking at how we relate to others and what roles we’re playing in our relationships.

Lived experience

As a mixed-race pansexual woman, I bring my understanding of generational and cultural patterns surrounding these identities. I know what it’s like to be part of both the majority and the minority and how identity, sense of self, family dynamics and relationship with community can be affected by this.

My space

My approach is rooted in empathy, inclusivity and a deep commitment to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for all people to explore their true selves. I welcome all people at all stages of personal-growth to come exactly as you are and receive support.

Client testimonials

“My sessions with Hannah Goel Therapy have been absolutely amazing & totally life changing for me. The powerful techniques used by Hannah have empowered me & provided me with the strength & helpful tools to deal with a complex & damaging relationship.

Following this therapy, I’ve now changed from suppressing my anger & hurt to expressing it which makes me feel healthier inside.

Hannah has a lovely way of being friendly, but firm & directing the consultation where it needs to go rather than down unhelpful rabbit holes.

I’m so incredibly grateful to Hannah for being so easy to talk to, her time spent really listening to me, her kindness, warmth & guidance. She was extremely professional, is absolutely brilliant at her role & so incredibly skilled.
Thank you Hannah.”

“Hannah has completely changed my life, and I have so much to thank her for. ♥︎
To be honest, because of my never-ending complexities and my previous negative experiences with therapists, I went about life thinking I was too “messed up and complicated” for help, even though I knew I needed it. But I thought I’d try one last time; I had nothing to lose…
Initially, I started sessions with Hannah to help me make sense of what felt like a never-ending “sh1t sandwich” of diagnoses and ongoing health conditions. I was (to say the very least) overwhelmed by the sheer number of symptoms, their impact, their cross-overs, my constant pain, my inconsistent mood changes, possible neurodivergence, long run of ‘unknowns’, and the reality of living this medically complex life forever.
BUT….
What I didn’t realise was that my biggest struggle wasn’t actually the diagnoses themselves — it was the way I had learned to think about myself.
Together, Hannah gently (and very skilfully) helped me uncover that SOO MUCH of my current distress was actually rooted in my inner child. The negative beliefs I had developed because of my traumatic and very abusive childhood, I just carried around for years and took it for gospel.
Although I thought I was “beyond help”, Hannah has an incredible ability to make you feel worthy, COMPLETELY SAFE, seen, heard, and understood. She combines warmth, compassion, intelligence, sympathy, and insight in a way that makes even the most painful topics feel completely manageable to discuss, to pick apart, and to hold.
She knows exactly when to challenge you, when to sit and hold space with you, and when to help you connect dots you never even knew existed. So many emotions arose, but I felt completely safe and trusted her entirely… Something I have never felt with a single therapist before (and I’ve had a fair few..!).

Thanks to Hannah, I am learning to view myself with far more kindness and understanding. I’m well into my journey of accepting my diagnoses; not as personal failings, faults and wrongdoings, but as a positive part of ME and MY life story of survival and sheer strength.
More importantly than that, I’m healing parts of myself that have needed the love and attention I never got as a child, and connecting with those parts of me to heal from abuse and trauma with love and compassion for myself. Sessions with Hannah completely calmed my body’s central nervous system, and I actually looked forward to my upcoming sessions rather than dread them! I couldn’t WAIT to tell Hannah about positive things that had happened and progress I could see I was making!
If you are struggling with complex medical issues, trauma, chronic illness, neurodivergence, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, I cannot recommend Hannah highly enough.
She is, quite honestly, sensational. Hannah is a gold-standard therapist… Compassionate, insightful, and exceptionally skilled at what she does. My inner voice is softer, my relationship with my partner is now stronger, and I am by far the happiest I’ve ever been – all thanks to Hannah.
I am profoundly grateful for the work we’ve done together.”
